FACTS OF INTEREST

The Bichon Frise, meaning 'curly-coated lap dog,' was developed in the 1300s as a companion dog for the royalty of Europe.
It was originally called the Bichon Tenerife because Italian and Spanish sailors traveling to the Canary Islands used the dogs as barter.
The Bichon appears in many portraits of kings and queens over the centuries, most notably in paintings by the Spanish masters.
Monkeys do not usually make good pets (though monkey PUPPETS do!!). With its happy personality, affectionate nature, and small size, the Bichon is an ideal house pet. Its silky fur must be groomed frequently.
